I am a cradle Catholic and went to public schools. I learned some but not really that much. I was blessed with a really strong sense of faith and a strong love for God. The last couple of years the Holy Spirit has been directing me where to go and I have been learning quiet a lot about my faith. I now have an even stronger love for the Holy Trinity and our Blessed Mother Mary. I am very grateful the Holy Spirit has led me to the New Saint Thomas Institute.

I feel that everyone of us has to learn as much as we can about our faith. We face opposition to our faith in every part of the world today. Only by truly knowing our faith we can bring others we know to believe.

I went to 12 years of Catholic school and 2 years of Catholic College, I used to wonder why I didn’t know more about my faith with all this schooling. It seems the more I study and learn the more I realize how much I didn’t know, NSTI is a big help. It’s one of my many resources. St. Augustine says true happiness comes from knowledge of God. Joy and surprise!! The closer I get to God the more I want to share the gospel. I want to go heaven. Praise God, I want everyone to go to heaven.

I am a cradle Catholic, went to Catholic grade school. I started learning more about my faith and the bible when I started attending a Charismatic prayer group and Life in the Spirit seminar. The Mass came alive for me as did The Holy Spirit. My adult education regarding Catholicism has been through reading various books, listening to tapes/CDs from individuals like Scott Hahn and many others, attending conferences, retreats, daily Mass, prayer, watching EWTN and discussions with friends – and now NSTI! I love to talk about God and our faith but know that I need a lot more practice in rhetoric along with ongoing study. I need to be able to give intelligent step by step answers/explanations of various topics. I find that although I have learned about many of the different faiths and “non-faiths”, I forget important points or don’t know the responses well enough to articulate them systematically to others. I’ve loved learning the difference between philosophy and theology. It gives a great framework for further study. And of course I am on the journey of growing in holiness and love so that I don’t sabotage God’s plan to bring me and others I meet into His Shekinah light. I want to be a stepping stone and not a stumbling block.
